We had planned for today to be a rest day, thinking we would be tired from the trek. Instead, we were restless, so we called Team Kilimanjaro and scheduled a last-minute day safari out to Lake Manyara. Despite being the safari-from-hell with our driver taking us on a couple hours of personal errands before heading out to the park, I'm glad we did it. Although it was the dry season, we still saw lots and lots of wildlife, including some really close encounters with elephants, zebras and giraffes.
